We, Markus and Esther Dietsche came to Canada from Switzerland in 1995. We had no idea that our lives would some day revolve around a barn full of mushrooms. What we did know is that we wanted to give farming a try.
Today we have a thriving business as one of the most northerly growers in Ontario. Growing healthy and sustainable food has always been a high priority for us. Especially in today’s world with all the uncertainties of where products come from, how food is produced and what we actually put on our plates. No chemicals are used on the mushrooms, which means they are not sprayed for flies and there are no chemicals in the medium (root sawdust). Even the used-up medium is going back on our fields. It comes full circle.
